Friends, after much prayer, meetings, and phone calls, we have decided to reopen the Church for “in-house” worship on Sunday, July 12, at 9:30 AM. In order to do so safely, there are guidelines from the Department of Health that we must ask everyone to follow.
-Your name will be logged in a journal each Sunday you attend for “tracing” purposes;
-A distance of at least 6 ft. must be maintained unless you are of the same household;
-Face masks must be worn at all times unless you are of the same household;
-Entering and Exiting will be done through the front doors or the Elevette;
-There should be only one person in the Elevette or on the stairs at a time;
-Pews, doors, and/or stairways to not be used will be taped off;
-Seating will be one household per pew;
-Please follow the signage and tape;
-Bible and Hymnals will be removed for sanitation purposes—please feel free to bring your own Bible;
-Music will be limited to organ and/or other musical instruments such as bells, guitar, strings so as not to
spread “droplets” through singing that can cause the virus;
-Collection plates will be placed at the doors entering the Sanctuary for donations to be “dropped” in;
-Bulletins will be pre-placed in pews so as to cut down on human contact;
-Communion elements will be changed to provide less exposure for contamination;
-We ask there be no “socializing” in the Narthex and Sanctuary—please do so out in the Parking Lot;
-There should be no holding or shaking of hands;
-And we ask that if you feel sick, please stay home.
The 62nd Whitelaw Ole Home Day this year has been cancelled due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, concern over mass gathering restrictions, and social distancing. We are thinking of the safety of our friends and neighbors in our community and surrounding communities. Until we are able to be together again, be diligent and safe. We will persevere through this obstacle. God bless and thank you.
