We hope you will join us as we journey through Lent by attending some, if not all, of the following events:

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper                Tuesday, February 28, 5:30-7:00 PM

Shrove Tuesday is the day before Lent starts on Ash Wednesday. The name Shrove comes from

the old middle English word 'Shriven' meaning to go to confession to say sorry for the wrong

things you've done. Lent always starts on a Wednesday, so people went to confession on the day

before. We use the Pancake Supper as a way for our Sunday School children to raise money to

                        share in our community.

Ash Wednesday Service                               Wednesday, March 01, 7:00 PM

We begin our Lenten journey this day; a time of fasting, repentance, moderation and spiritual

discipline, at which time we will receive the imposition of ashes and share in the Lord’s Supper.

Friendship Club                                            Saturday, March 18, 6:30 PM

Join us for a potluck supper followed by a slideshow & informative program on the Snowy Owl

presented by Award-winning photographer Susan Kiesel.

Scalloped Potato & Ham Dinner                 Saturday, March 25, 5:00-7:30 PM

Meat & potatoes will be accompanied bymixed vegetables, applesauce, roll, drink & dessert.

Price $9; children 5 and under free.

Palm Sunday Service                                    Sunday, April 16, 9:30 AM

This is the day we celebrate the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem and generally do so by

the carrying and waving of palm fronds.

Maundy Thursday Service                           Thursday, April 13, 7:00 PM

On this night we will commemorate the supper Jesus shared with his disciples before His

crucifixion doing so through the sharing of confession and pardon, proclamation of the Word, the

Lord’s Supper, and stripping of the church.

Easter/Resurrection of the Lord                 Sunday, April 16

This service represents the festival or holiday that took place celebrating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day of his burial after his crucifixion at Calvary. It is the culmination of the Passion of Jesus, preceded by Lent, a forty-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance. The day will begin with:

Continental Breakfast                         8:30 AM in Fellowship Hall

Worship Service                                  9:30 AM in the Sanctuary
